In Q2 2017 Hunter rolled out a new gold coloured PBI structural PPE uniform for Kildare Fire. This new kit provides higher performance in heat and flame protection with added durability and more safety features such as the ‘escape zip’ which enables quick removal of the jacket in an emergency. Hunter measured and then fitted all of the fire-fighters. The kit was supplied using the award winning HunterPAC® technology system. Kildare Fire is the second brigade to move to this new gold PBI colour kit after Dublin Fire Brigade.
Kildare Fire also signed up to a long term HunterCARE® contract. This contract ensures the kit is laundered and repaired in our state of the art HunterCARE® facility in Dublin and we are currently serving all of the Kildare Fire-fighters there.
In May 2017 our CEO Simon Hunter attended the launch day for Kildare Fire PPE, at the request of their Chief Fire Officer, Celina Barrett. This was held in Naas Fire Station, County Kildare and CEO Simon Hunter said, “It was great to see the fire-fighters in their new kit, they all looked extremely proud.”
